SATURDAY NIGHT RACING RETURNS TO THE BRIDGEPORT SPEEDWAY
After three weeks of special Sunday shows, Saturday night racing returns to the Bridgeport 5/8 mile speedway as the championship point season gets underway on Dollar Dog night as the Spirit Dodge Big Block Modifieds, Crate/Sportsman, Stewart Stainless Outlaw Stocks and D.A.'s Auto Body & Repair Rookies take to the track for a full night of racing.
The new clay surface has provided a lot of close, exciting racing during the early weeks of the racing season and conditions only promise to get even better with the later race starts of the Saturday night schedule.
The 2015 Bridgeport Championships will be up for grabs as the point season gets underway. Former champions, Ryan Watt, Rick Laubach and Wade Hendrickson will be looking to add another crown to their collection while drivers like Richie Pratt, Jr., Dominic Buffalino, Sam Martz, Jesse Hill, Ron Roberts and Tommy Beamer will be looking for their first ever titles.
The Crate/Sportsman championship will be up for grabs this season with CJ Jones, Bobby Lilick, Kris Lilick, Kevin Belmont and Scott Hulmes among the drivers seeking their first Bridgeport Championship.
After contending for the Outlaw Stock Championship right down to the wire last season, Jeramy Doerr has exerted himself as the man to beat with his dominant performance so far this season but 2014 Champion, Jim Avery, Tom Wills, Jr., Jack Beaumont and the rest of the field will have a lot to say about that on race night.
A new class of Rookies takes to the track for their eight lap feature event as they gain more and more seat time and experience as the weeks go by.
Saturday night race time is 6pm. Fan Fest will precede the night's racing action, giving race fans the opportunity to meet some of their favorite drivers at the entrance to the speedway. The Bridgeport Speedway mascot, the Bridgeport Bandit will be on hand and offers his Bandit Bus for fans to tour the pit area throughout the course of the evening. There's plenty to do for the whole family at the Bridgeport Speedway.
The mighty Modifieds will take to the quarter mile track on Friday night as the first of five Open Modified shows lead up to the Romp in the Swamp event on September 26. The Modifieds on the quarter mile are always a popular feature. The 270cc and 600cc Micro Sprints and 4 cylinder Enduro cars will also compete with racing getting underway at 8pm.

Bridgeport, NJ - This coming Friday, April 17 will be the season opener on the quarter-mile with the 600cc and 270cc Micro Sprints and 4 Cylinders starting their quest for a 2015 championship. Posted by: | CommentsEARLY INTEREST SAYS WALL STADIUM TURKEY DERBY WILL FEATURE STAR STUDDED FIELD
WALL TOWNSHIP, N.J. ~ If the interest already shown for the 41st annual Turkey Derby stock car spectacular at Wall Stadium Speedway is any indication, the field of Tour Type Modified and Downs Ford Modified competitors should be star studded to say the least.
The Turkey Derby is the traditional northeast season ending stock car spectacular presented during the daylight hours of Friday, Saturday and Sunday of Thanksgiving weekend. The Tour Type Modifieds, Downs Ford Modifieds, Dirt Track Modified/Sportsman, Sportsman racers, Limited Late Models, Factory Stocks, 4 Cylinder Stocks, Legend Cars, TQ Midgets and Demolition Derby competitors will all see action during the weekend. The Tour Type and Downs Ford Modified main events are featured on Saturday.
One of the first Tour Type Modified competitors to contact the speedway office was former Sprint Cup driver Jeremy Mayfield who has recently raced Modifieds in the south and has expressed his desire to compete in the Turkey Derby. Pennsylvania’s Zane Zeiner, Shaun Carrig of Little Falls and New Hampshire’s Less Hinckley have also expressed their interest to compete. The speedway will welcome recent Mahoning Valley Speedway winner Matt Hirschman of Northampton, Pa. to the Turkey Derby and Ryan Preece, a favorite on the Whelen Modified Tour, has also made his intentions known.
Professional auto racers from all divisions that will be participating in Wall Stadium Speedway’s 41st annual “Turkey Derby” on Thanksgiving weekend will have the opportunity to participate in paid practice sessions this Saturday, November 15, and on November 22. On each Saturday competitor pit area gates will open at 10:30 a.m. with on track action starting at noon. Although both are paid sessions for the race teams fans are welcome to witness the practice from the grandstand free of charge.
Rules, entry forms, pit pass forms and a hotel list are all available on the track website at wallspeedwayracing.com. Lap sponsorships for all divisions, available at $25, $50 and $100, are also available by calling the speedway office at 732-681-6400.
The speedway staff is happy to announce that like last year a large heated tent will be available for the comfort of the race fans in the midway area for Turkey Derby weekend. Although officials are busy with Turkey Derby preparations they are also making plans for the 2015 season.
The speedway is located on Route 34 in Wall Township, N.J., just one mile north of Garden State Parkway exit 98 and Interstate 195 exit 35B. The speedway hotline number is 732-681-6400, while CKMotorsports@aol.com is the track’s email address. More information is also available at www.wallspeedwayracing.com.
