FINAL OPEN WHEEL SPECTACULAR OF THE 2014 SEASON SET FOR GRANDVIEW SPEEDWAY SUNDAY
BECHTELSVILLE, PA August 25, 2014 . . . The third and final Open Wheel Spectacular of the season is on tap at the Grandview Speedway this Sunday evening as the Hilborn Tri-State Race Saver Sprint Cars (TSRS) and the wingless midgets of the American Racing Drivers Club (ARDC) return to the high banks of the Grandview Speedway for another double header of open cockpit competition.
Only one driver - Adam Carberry of Bensalem, PA - has been able to claim repeat wins in TSRS action this season. Carberry was the race winner of the first Open Wheel Spectacular in June and recently picked up his second win of 2014 at the Bridgeport Speedway. Karl Freyer, Mike Haggenbottom, Kyle Reinhardt, Dave Brown, Kyle Purks and the winner of the July Open Wheel Spectacular, Jeff Geiges - are all looking to make a return trip to Victory Lane. Carberry raced Tim Tanner for the win in June. Geiges won a three way battle when he took the lead from Haggenbottom with two laps to go. Purks, Haggenbottom and Geiges swapped the positions throughout the final six laps in a race that came right down to the checkered flag at the end of twenty-five laps.
Steve Buckwalter has won both of the ARDC Midget Sunday night feature events. However, it has been the Collegeville, PA driver, "The Phenom" Alex Bright who has been on a streak in recent ARDC action. Bright leads the midget field with five wins, including wins in four of the last five ARDC events. Steve Buckwalter has three wins while Steven Drevicki continues to lead the points in ARDC action with his pair of wins. PJ Gargiulo and Tim Buckwalter each have one win a piece this season.
Both feature events promise twenty-five laps of open wheel action from the green to the checkered and feature the top performers from a series of qualifying events for both divisions of competition.
Fans will have a chance to meet with several competitors before the racing action gets underway on Sunday. The team from Low, Down and Dirty internet radio will present a Meet & Greet to begin at five o'clock near the entrance to the grandstand. Eddie Wagnner and his #70 and Stephanie Stevens and her #20 will be on hand to represent TSRS while 2013 ARDC Champion, Trevor Kobylarz and the R/T Racing #1 and Danny Stratton with the Steward #33 will be on hand to represent ARDC. These drivers will pose for pictures, sign autographs and be available to answer questions before they head back to the pits to prepare for the night's racing action.
Racing will get the green flag at 7:30 p.m. Adult admission is just $15 while youngsters 6 through 12 pay $5 and kids under 6 are admitted free.
It's the night before the Labor Day Holiday and a great time to come out and experience the action that everyone is talking about - the Open Wheel Spectacular at the Grandview Speedway.
Filling out the Labor Day weekend at Grandview is the Saturday night tripleheader sponsored by Bernheisel Racing Components and will see the BRC Late Models run in a special 30-lap feature with more than $5,000 worth of special products being shared by all Late Model racers that carry the BRC decals on both sides of the car. The NASCAR 358 Modifieds and Sportsman will also be in action. Just two point events remain in the season before the huge Freedom 76 Classic takes place on Saturday, September 13 and that one pays $25,000 to win and features the best dirt track modified racing talents in the area.
The Saturday night action gets the green at 7:30 p.m. with adults admitted for just $15 while youngsters 12 and under are admitted free.

STEVE BUCKWALTER AND JEFF GEIGES WIN OPEN WHEEL SPECTACULAR FEATURES AT GRANDVIEW SPEEDWAY ON SUNDAY NIGHT
BECHTELSVILLE, PA July 21, 2014. . . The results of the second Open Wheel Spectacular at Grandview Speedway have been written in the record books. While that chapter may be closed, it is not likely that the talk about this racing event will end any time soon.
Race fans saw Steve Buckwalter set a blistering pace on his way to his second consecutive win in American Racing Drivers Club (ARDC) action on the high banks of the Grandview Speedway Sunday night. The Tri-State Race Savers (TSRS) Sprint Car feature saw three different leaders during the final six laps with multiple lead changes on several laps before Jeff Geiges took command and the win.

Current ARDC point leader, Steven Drevicki and Alex Bright led the field of wingless midgets to the green flag with Bright using the outside line to take the lead on lap one. Bright ran and hid from the field as he extended his lead lap after lap. Bright was already reeling in the back of the field by lap eight as Drevicki, Brenden Bright, Tim Buckwalter and Ryan Watt raced in the top five.
But disaster would strike for the young Collegeville, PA driver on lap eleven. Bright was preparing to negotiate his way through lapped traffic when contact was made between the Lightcap Electric #77 and the car driven by Eric Heydenreich. Bright took a wild ride in turn two before coming to rest on the inside of the track. Bright exited the car uninjured but his bid for his third ARDC win of the season ended before the half way mark.
Drevicki took the lead on the restart as Brenden Bright and Tim Buckwalter battled for second in front of Watt. Tim Buckwalter took over second when the pair raced through turn three. Steve Buckwalter slid into third before the half way mark. After a two lap battle with Tim Buckwalter, Steve Buckwalter moved up to second. The caution waved for Tyler Brehm who sat on the infield just off of turn four.
Drevicki now had Steve Buckwalter on his back bumper for the single file restart. Drevicki led through lap fifteen but Buckwalter took the lead for good on the next go round.
Drevicki held off Tim Buckwalter's challenges to finish second. Brenden Bright followed S. Buckwalter, Drevicki and T. Buckwalter across the finish line with Kyle Lick completing the top five at the checkered.

Kyle Purks and Rick Stief paced the field of TSRS Sprint Cars to the green flag with Purks quickly exerting his muscle to take the lead.
A red flag brought the racing to a half on the first lap as Scott Frack made hard contact with the wall coming out of turn two before going over. Frack escaped injury but his race ended prematurely on this night. Adam Carberry, the feature winner in the first Sunday night Open Wheel Spectacular, exited the race as a result of wing damage incurred in the same incident. Tim Tanner, who was the TSRS point leader coming into this race, exited under the lap one stop with motor issues.
Purks went into the lead on the complete restart and caught the rear of the field on lap six. Even with lapped traffic to hinder his progress, Purks continued to pull away. With ten laps complete, Jeff Gieges ran in second and began to close the gap on Purks while two time TSRS Champion, Mike Haggenbottom raced in third.
Stef Palmai drew a caution when she ran into problems with seventeen laps complete, setting up a single file restart with just eight laps left to run.
Purks had Geiges, Haggenbottom, Tom Carberry Jr. and Ryan Stillwaggon lined up nose to tail right behind him as he led the field back to green flag racing.
And then things got interesting. Purks led lap eighteen as Geiges took a look to the inside. Haggenbottom took his car to the outside, passed Geiges for second and then took the lead from Purks to lead lap nineteen. Purks came right back to take the lead as the field exited turn two. Haggenbottom was back in front as he and Purks crossed the line on the next lap but the lead changed hands around the speedway. Haggenbottom was scored as the race leader on laps twenty-one through lap twenty-three when Jeff Geiges overtook Purks for second and then passed Haggenbottom for the lead. Haggenbottom fought back and regained the lead momentarily before Geiges took the lead and led the way to the checkered flag.
It was Geiges for the win followed by Haggenbottom, T. Carberry, Purks and Brennflect.
The third Open Wheel Spectacular of the season is set for Sunday, August 31st again featuring the TSRS Sprints and ARDC Midgets. Racing will start at 7:30 p.m.
This Saturday, July 26th, 7:30 p.m. Atlas Paving Corporation of Wayne, NJ will sponsor the night which will feature the Pepsi-Bashore Challenge One-on-One Modified Challenge races along with a full card of NASCAR 358 Modifieds, BRC Late Models and Sportsman stock cars. Spectator gates open at 5:30 p.m. and as the gates are opened the popular Low Down and Dirty Meet & Greet will be presented featuring modified standout Duane Howard along with father and son Late Model racers Lou Egrie Sr. and Jr. Again this Saturday fans will have the opportunity to win valuable tickets for the NASCAR race events being presented at Pocono Raceway on August 2nd and 3rd topped by the GoBowling 400 NASCAR Sprint Cup race. THREE BIG EVENTS OF RACING AT GRANDVIEW

SATURDAY AND SUNDAY FILLED WITH EXCITING RACING ACTION AT GRANDVIEW SPEEDWAY
With three big events of auto racing planned for Grandview Speedway this weekend there should be something for everyone and all offered at very reasonable ticket prices. Tonight (Saturday) 7:30 p.m. Hatfield Quality Meats offers a tripleheader card of NASCAR stock car racing. At noon on Sunday, July 20th, the Outlaw Enduro racers are in action along with the Blast from the Past Vintage Cars and that evening, 7:30 p.m. the TSRS Winged Sprints and ARDC Wingless Midgets will be in action.
Spectator gates open at 5:30 p.m. and that will also be the starting time for the fan pleasing Low Down and Dirty Internet Radio Show sponsored Meet and Greet and will feature Modified standout Doug Manmiller, six time Late Model champion Chuck Schutz and Sportsman talent Tom “Elvis” Miller. Adult admission is $15 while youngsters 12 and under are admitted free.
Racing action will include the NASCAR 358 Modifieds, BRC Late Models and Sportsman stock cars.
Fans will have the opportunity to win tickets to NASCAR race events at Pocono Raceway on the weekend of August 2-3 courtesy of WNPV-1440AM Radio and Pocono Raceway where the GoBowling 400 will be presented for NASCAR Sprint Cup cars on August 3.
Then on Sunday at noon the always exciting Outlaw Enduros will be featured in two 100-lap features (one for big cars and one for small cars) and a 10 lap feature for the Lady racers. The Blast from the Past Vintage Cars will race in two 15-lap features and the adult admission for all this is just $10 while youngsters 12 and under are admitted free.
On Sunday night Grandview Speedway will be host to the second Open Wheel Spectacular of the season as the Hilborn Tri-State Race Saver (TSRS) 305 Winged Sprint Cars join forces with the wingless midgets of the American Racing Drivers Club (ARDC).
Adult admission for the Sunday, July 20th event is a low $15 while youngsters 6 through 12 pay just $5. Kids under 6 are admitted free. And there is always free parking on the speedway grounds.
Spectator gates open at 5:30 p.m. with racing getting under way promptly at 7:30pm. Fans are invited to the pre-race Meet & Greet, hosted by the Low Down and Dirty Internet radio show. Included in the Sunday night session will be sprint car racers Tommy Carberry and lady racer Mares Stellfox along with midget racing talents Brandon Bright and Shawn Jackson. And when the racing action is completed everyone is invited to visit with the racers in the pit area.
Kelly Fuel will again be awarding fuel to top competitors in both the TSRS and ARDC midget racing action. A total of 60 gallons of fuel will be divided between five competitors in each division of competition.

STEVE BUCKWALTER AND ADAM CARBERRY WIN FEATURES IN FIRST “OPEN WHEEL SPECTACULAR” AT GRANDVIEW SPEEDWAY
BECHTELSVILLE, PA June 23, 2014 . . . The first Open Wheel Spectacular at the Grandview Speedway lived up to its name as fans saw some great racing by both the American Racing Drivers Club (ARDC) wingless midgets and the Hilborn Tri-State Race Saver Sprint cars as Sunday night open wheel racing made its return to the high banks of the Grandview Speedway after nearly a thirty year absence. The American Racing Drivers Club wingless midget feature had veteran Steve Buckwalter getting the win while the Hilborn Tri State Race Saver winged sprint car feature was won by Adam Carberry.

ARDC midget action saw 2012 ARDC Rookie, Brett Wanner lead lap number one from the pole. Billy Pauch Jr. took the lead on lap two, driving the RT Racing #20 on this occasion. Racing came to a stop with two laps scored as Tommy Kunsman spun in turns three and four, collecting Ryan Watt. Watt flipped the Fred Schell owned #75. All drivers were okay but Watt and Kunsman were unable to continue.
Pauch Jr. led the field on the restart with Steve Buckwalter in hot pursuit. Tim Buckwalter now ran in third with Danny Stratton and current ARDC point leader, Steven Drevicki completing the top five. With the two Buckwalters racing for second, Pauch was able to pull away from the field temporarily. Alex Bright and Bruce Buckwalter Jr. moved in to fourth and fifth as positions changed on nearly every lap.
Steve Buckwalter closed in on Pauch on lap eight and after a two lap battle, wrestled the lead from Pauch to score lap ten.
Wanner drew a caution when he came to a stop in turns three and four with thirteen complete. Steve led Tim Buckwalter, Pauch, Alex Bright and Steven Drevicki with half of the laps on the books.
Steve Buckwalter held off the challenge of Tim Buckwalter as Pauch, Alex Bright and Drevicki raced in the top five with ten laps remaining.
Bright took over third on lap sixteen and then moved in to challenge Tim Buckwalter for second. Bright had the runner-up spot by lap eighteen and he began to close the gap on the leader in the final laps.
Two restarts realigned the field nose to tail but Steve Buckwalter had the race in hand as he led Alex Bright and Tim Buckwalter to the checkered flag. Drevicki finished fourth with Pauch rounding out the top five.
The win was Buckwalter's second ARDC midget win of the season.
Qualifying heats were won by Pauch, Drevicki and Kobylarz.

Adam Carberry and Ryan Stillwaggon led the TSRS Sprint Cars to the start with Stillwaggon taking control at the wave of the green.
The red flag was needed for a multi car incident in turns three and four that saw Ian Detweiler get out of shape and several cars had nowhere to go. Stephanie Steven got upside down in the incident that also involved the cars of Cody Jourdan and Bryant Davis. Only Davis was able to continue.
Stillwaggon returned to the lead on the restart with Adam Carberry in hot pursuit. Tom Carberry ran in third followed by Bob DeVault and Tim Tanner. Adam Carberry went to the outside of Stillwaggon on lap five and took over the lead.
Once in the lead, Carberry immediately put some distance between himself and his challengers. Tanner made his way to fourth with a pass by DeVault on lap eight as the duo raced down the backstretch.
DeVault drew a caution on lap ten after Kyle Reinhardt made a move by three cars to take over fifth. Tanner quickly moved up to third on the restart and then advanced to second with a move by Stillwaggon as Carberry drove ahead of the field.
Adam Carberry caught up to the back of the field on lap seventeen. While Carberry negotiated his way through traffic, Tanner began to close in on the leader.
On lap twenty-one, Carberry and Tanner crossed the start/finish line together. Carberry was back in control the next time around but Tanner was in hot pursuit. The leaders raced each other for position all the way to the checkered flag with Carberry earning his first win of the 2014 season. Tanner finished alongside for second with Tommy Carberry finishing third, preferring the high line around the Grandview Speedway. Joseph Kata won the battle for fourth with Stillwaggon rounding out the top five at the line.
The four qualifying heats were won by Tanner, DeVault, Tom Carberry and Detweiler with Jon Haegele taking the consolation.
Kelly Racing Fuels gave five fuel awards to each organization with each based on the #17 - the car number of former driver, Dave Kelly. Haegele received ten gallons of racing fuel for being the 17th driver to draw. Five gallons of fuel went to Cody Jourdan as the 17th entry, Tom Carberry who is 17th in points, Adam Carberry who led TSRS' last event on the 17th lap and to Mike Haggenbottom who finished 17th in the last TSRS race at Bridgeport.
Ten gallons of Kelly Racing Fuel went to Ryan Watt who started the feature in 17th position. Five gallon awards were given to Greg Fitzpatrick who was the 17th driver to draw, Billy Pauch Jr. who was 17th in points, Steven Drevicki who led the 17th lap of the last ARDC event and John Barnett who finished 17th in that race at Port Royal.
The next Open Wheel Spectacular, again featuring the ARDC midgets and Hilborn TSRS sprints, is set for Sunday, July 20th.

TWO GREAT NIGHTS OF RACING AT GRANDVIEW

Adult fans who attend tonight’s Saturday night URC sprint and NASCAR 358 Modified doubleheader at Grandview Speedway, sponsored by RCN-TV, will be able to use their raincheck from that event to get a $2 discount on their adult ticket for the Sunday Open Wheel Spectacular that will feature TSRS WINGED Sprints and ARDC WINGLESS Midgets. Both shows have 7:30 p.m. starting times.
The Saturday night show will see the stars of the Rislone United Racing Company winged sprint car organization in action with the NASCAR 358 Modifieds featuring such top talents as Duane Howard, Jeff Strunk, Craig VonDohren, Meme DeSantis, Doug Manmiller and a host of others. The Saturday night doubleheader is one of the most popular events of the season at Grandview Speedway.
Adult admission for the Saturday show is $25 while youngsters 6 through12 pay $5. Kids under 6 are admitted free. Active military with proper ID are admitted for free.
Sunday night admission for adults will be $15 (those with adult rainchecks from Saturday night will get a $2 discount), youngsters 6 thru 12 pay $5 and kids under 6 are admitted free.
Each night of racing will include a Lowdown and Dirty Meet & Greet session with a few of the racers starting at 5:30 p.m. That is the same time the main gate will open each night.

ARDC MIDGET ACTION RETURNS TO SUNDAY NIGHTS AT THE GRANDVIEW SPEEDWAY
It's been thirty years since Sunday night racing at the Grandview Speedway featured midget racing but that is all about to change this Sunday, May 4th with the Open Wheel Spectacular on the high banks of the Grandview Speedway! And what better timing than the 2014 season as the American Racing Drivers Club (ARDC) celebrates their 75th Anniversary.
In what will be the first of four doubleheader events, ARDC will team up with the Hilborn Tri-State Race Saver 305 Sprint Cars in a Sunday night program on the 1/3 mile speedway with both divisions featured in qualifying events and twenty-five lap features.
Bob Hilbert Sportswear will be offering several ARDC drivers some additional incentives this season. The Hilbert on the Hill Challenge will award the driver who accumulates the most points in the eight scheduled events at the Grandview Speedway with 100 White Express T-shirts with front and back imprinting. Hilbert will also present the 2nd through 5th place drivers in the series with $100 gift certificates. With the Grandview Speedway located in such close proximity to Hilbert's business, the pairing was just a natural combination.
After rain caused the cancellation of the second event on the ARDC 2014 schedule, ARDC teams are anxiously awaiting their next event at Grandview. Many of the ARDC teams consider the Grandview Speedway to be their home track. "Grandview is one my favorite tracks," 2013 ARDC Champion Trevor Kobylarz stated recently. "We consider Grandview to be our home track since it is the closest to home of anywhere we race. It gives us a chance to bring our sponsors to the track as well as family and friends." Kobylarz continued, "And with this being our (ARDC) 75th Anniversary, it connects us to a part of our history that was very popular. A lot of people have told me how they used to attend those Sunday night races at Grandview."
Many of the drivers share Kobylarz' sentiments and would like nothing better than to visit Victory Lane at the Grandview Speedway.
Kobylarz and regular Saturday night Grandview competitor, Tim Buckwalter were the winners of the 2013 ARDC events at Grandview and both will be in the field for the first Sunday night event in thirty years. Buckwalter moved into competition in the Small Block Modified ranks at Grandview after winning the 2012 ARDC Championship.
Kobylarz and Buckwalter will have plenty of competition from the likes of the winner of the 2014 season opener, Steven Drevicki, Bruce Buckwalter, Jr., Ryan Greth, PJ Gargiulo, Brett Arndt, Tony DiMattia, Alex Bright, Kyle Lick and Nick Wean as well as many more. Billy Pauch Jr. who has an ARDC win at Grandview in the Burke Trucking #54 will be doing double duty on Sunday nights as he races in both the sprint cars and midgets. Modified chauffeur, Ryan Watt will run a team car to Pauch as both drivers wheel entries owned by Jerry & Karen Steward.
A Meet & Greet will allow fans access to two drivers from each organization prior to the Sunday night events. Drivers will be available for pictures and autographs beginning at 5pm on race night, just outside the track's main entrance.
It's been a part of midget history and now will become apart of the present.
Pit gates open at 3:30pm, grandstands at 5:30pm and racing starts at 7:30pm. Adult admission is $15 with children 6-11 just $3. Children under 6 are free.

HILBORN/TRI STATE RACESAVER SPRINTERS SET FOR FRIDAY NIGHT AT BRIDGEPORT
The 2014 racing season for the TSRS 305 Sprints will officially begin this Friday Night at Bridgeport Speedway with gates opening at 5:30 and hot laps kicking off at 8:30. The originally scheduled Saturday April 19th race was rescheduled for Friday, April 18th due to the postponement of the “Doug Hoffman Memorial” 60 Over ROC race set for Easter Sunday.
This will be the first of five Poker Series Events sponsored by Bethman Auto Center/Champion Tire/Bruce's Speed and Bridgeport Speedway. The ‘best hand’ at the end of the 2014 series will receive $1,500, second best hand will earn $750, while the third best hand will win $500. The ‘worst’ hand will take home $500. There will also be a random drawing for all drivers with perfect attendance that did not finish in any of the four paying positions. Thanks to Race Car Rides & General Automotive along with Snookies Speed one lucky driver will walk away with a $300 cash prize along with a 55-gallon drum of methanol fuel.
Two time back to back 2012 & 2013 Tri-State Racesaver Series Champion Mike Haggenbottom will pilot his ASI Racewear/Bob Kasnady Automotion number 24, along with a roster of TSRS Drivers including Tim Tanner, Dave Brown Jr., Rick Steif, Adam Carberry, Eddie Wagner, Stefanie Palmai, Kyle Purks, Tommy Carberry, Jon Haegele, Dave Martin, Karl Freyer, Bob DeVault, Jamie Kostic, Bryant Davis, Stephanie Stevens, Cody Jourdan, Ed Newhouser and more!
For those who have not registered with TSRS for the 2014 season, you will not be eligible to pull for a starting position and required to start at the rear of the field. Also, drivers not registered with TSRS will not be able to collect contingency prizes or be included in the Bridgeport Poker Series standings. You can register Friday Night at Bridgeport with Mares Stelfox before the beginning of the evening’s events or sooner by contacting Mares or Joe Grandinetti.
